(<1 Minute Read or Listen Below) The world is unsettled. As I write this, Illinois is ending its first full day of "shelter in place" to limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). For the same reason, other parts of the US and the world have been under similar instruction.
Some have been thrust into remote work arrangements, while others wish they had the option. Schools have been closed indefinitely or converted to online classes only. Many are experiencing either a sudden abundance of togetherness or complete isolation. What will you do with this sudden shift?
I say embrace it! The time excuse is off the table. During the time you would have been commuting, catch up with a friend via video chat. If you can't work from home, watch a movie with your family. Seize this chance to reconnect with others! In the shadow of this unfortunate worldwide situation, create something positive. The catalyst may not be what you wanted, but the opportunity is here. And the impact of your efforts will last long after this episode is behind us. So, what will you do?
